Alana was an office professional turned full time stay at home mom, wife, and homeschool teacher. She is married to James an occupational therapist and mother to three wonderful boys, Vince (7), Ward (5), and Niles (9 mos). They live in an old home on approximately one acre outside a small town in northern Indiana with their two cats and three chickens (soon to be 8 or 9 and two ducks).
Alana started this blog as a means to share her journey from transforming her life from a worldly life driven by following her own passions and desires to a life focused on service to Christ through her thoughts and actions. Follow her journey into first time homeschooling a son with special needs (non-verbal to limited language use at the age of five) focusing on functional skills, oral motor development, and self-esteem, trying to convince her middle son that eating solid foods (not just pureed baby foods) is a good thing, all while trying to make a house into home by doing small DIY renovations to their 1930’s ranch style home. She plans to discuss topics near and dear to her heart including marriage, homeschooling, parenting, DIY projects, and her personal journey back into the Church after leaving in her early 20’s.
She hopes to use this blog to share her experiences, pitfalls, and inspire others to take that leap of faith into the unknown.
